| Winemaker Notes |
All of the grapes in our wines are grown in our vineyard and processed in our winery. Our vineyard is dry farmed and the hillside fruit sets our wines apart from all the other wineries. Our upper fields are 950 ft in elevation creating unique growing conditions: primarily hillside fruit, increased drainage and great sun and wind exposure. We use 3-5 year old barrels so there is just a hint of oak and all the fruit flavors explode in the nose and the taste. Our Estate Pinot Noir is a combination of Pommard & Wadensvil clones from our largest Pinot Noir block.
More ruby in color, as a true Pinot Noir should be, the intensity and structure of this wine make it stand out! The bright cherry fruit in the nose does not prepare you for the tannins that catch your attention in the front palate, yet give way to smooth depth and complex flavors in the mid palate. The elevation and stressed fruit express themselves in the taste and finish of this fruit forward experience.
